An extremely lucky EuroMillions lottery player who won a big prize twice has been instructed to demolish his garden cabin which, according to officials, was illegally constructed. George Traykov defied the odds with EuroMillions twice after taking home top prizes in the multi-national lottery game in the space of three years. The two-time EuroMillions winner has been asked by police to demolish his illegally constructed backyard cabin which he rents out as a music studio. His neighbours have been complaining about the noise for years. The winner is George Traykov, who won big with EuroMillions twice in the space of three years. In his first win, he scored £1 million with the Millionaire Maker Raffle in 2011. His second win was £160,000 in 2013.
He is originally Bulgarian and used to be a professional skydiver. He has been living in the United Kingdom for close to twenty years now. George was under investigation by the Hounslow Council last year for this studio he rented out in his garden. He was renting it out to illegal immigrants to make it worse.
This week George was forced to remove the illegal cabin. In it, there is a kitchen, bathroom and sleeping area. He rented this space out for £600 a month. This isn’t the first time he’s been in trouble with the local council for illegal accommodation. In 2015 he experienced a similar problem over an illegal flat.
His current cabin in Feltham was discovered after the local council flew over the area with a thermal imaging device and mapped the presence of the immigrants after neighbour complaints tipped them off. The demolition has been scheduled for next year, however, so it will give the occupants time to find their feet and find a new home.
A resident who stays in the same street as George said that the situation had been going on for four years and there have been many issues with parking and the noise levels in the house. The neighbour did advise George, however, that he can apply to build a legal house in his backyard to rent out if he doesn’t want the current establishment demolished.
George Traykov isn’t the only person to construct these kinds of illegal live-in sheds. According to residents of Feltham, a few others have been found guilty of the same things because of new immigration laws and lack of housing.
