Would you like to live in the iconic house that ‘Scarface’ was filmed in? Well, now you can! In Montecito, California, this elaborate estate made famous by the film was originally listed for $35 million by Russian-born financier Sergey Grishin but has been put on the market for $12.26 million. Read more about what the house has to offer and what it looks like here.
The grounds total an approximate 10-acres including its Persian-style gardens and fountains. This iconic estate immortalised on film is named “El Fureidis”.
The Montecito property went onto the market in May 2014 for a whopping $35 million. The price was then reduced to $17.9 million for private reasons. It was listed by Riskin Partners and Emily Kellenberger of Village Properties Realtors. Mr. Riskin said that the property was initially “overpriced” and that the sales price actually reflects its true value.
The seller of the property is Russian-born financier Sergey Grishin who bought the house in the year 2008 for a staggering $20 million. He declined to comment.
The house has four lavish bedrooms with priceless décor and design. In total, it is about 10,000 square feet. It was designed in the early 1900s by architect Bertram Goodhue and it incorporates Roman as well as Middle Eastern influences. There is even a Byzantine-style “conversation room” with an 18-foot-high ceiling.
In the dining room, you can expect to find a barrel dome ceiling painted in 24-karat gold leaf! The luxurious grounds boast Persian-style gardens and fountains.
In the above picture, you can see that this was the scene where the wedding scene in ‘Scarface’ was filmed. Multiple patio levels and reflecting pools can be seen.
One very unsuspecting buyer has come forth to claim this iconic estate. The buyer’s name is businessman Pradeep
The wealthy businessman plans to use this home as his West Coast residence and wants to spend his Christmas there.
Money can buy you just about anything…even Scarface’s iconic home!
